Drain and Sewer Line Cleanout Installation
Plumbing codes are very specific as to the requirements for drain and sewer cleanouts. If your drainage or sewer system does not meet these requirements, it is not possible to properly inspect, diagnose, or service your drainage system. Drain cleanout codes have changed some over the years, and these codes are now arguably more rigidly enforced by building inspectors. If your structure is less than 20 years old, it probably has code-compliant drain cleanouts installed where they are needed. Older structures require more service in general, particularly service related to drain problems, and often this service requires the installation of a drain cleanout. It is prudent to employ a licensed plumber for any drain cleanout installation to avoid undersizing and other common mistakes made by ignoring applicable plumbing codes.
